Tolkien Wall at Monster Rock
Texas Climbers Coalition (TCC) and Access Fund are pleased to announce the acquisition and permanent protection of Monster Rock, a rock climbing park near Austin, Texas.
We need your support to maintain public access and make this acquisition a long-term success. Your donation will directly contribute to our Monster Rock efforts.
Climbing at Monster Rock & General Etiquette
Climbing at Monster Rock is a privilege. Because this crag sits directly in a residential area, our actions, especially at night, determine whether this access remains open and/or unrestricted for everyone.

Observe Quiet Hours: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM
To keep the peace and respect those who live here, please follow these guidelines:
• Kill the Noise: After 9:00 PM, keep voices at a whisper. Sound carries significantly further in the night air and off rock faces than you might think. Keep music off during these hours
• Be Mindful of Light: Avoid shining high-powered headlamps directly toward houses or bedroom windows.
• No Late-Night Gatherings: Please save the post-climb celebrations for a more secluded area away from homes.

Why It Matters
One noise complaint can lead to more restrictions of this area. When you climb here, you aren't just a climber—you are a temporary neighbor.

Help Us Keep Access Unrestricted
If you see others being loud during quiet hours, please give them a friendly reminder. Protecting our access depends on our community holding each other accountable.
Thank you for being a responsible member of the climbing community!
