Central Texas Bolting Update, Open Board Positions, and Limestoner Updates!

2025 Central Texas Bolting Update

One of TCC’s core commitments as a nonprofit is simple: reinvest directly into making climbing safer in Central Texas. Thanks to member support, donations, and Limestoner funding, we’ve been able to make meaningful progress on that front.

Working alongside two newly mentored volunteers, our bolt replacement efforts in 2025 resulted in a major upgrade to aging hardware across Central Texas, and specifically at Climbers Canyon at Reimers Ranch and the steeper routes at the end of the canyon. In total, the team replaced:

145 bolts (127 wave bolts + 18 Meteora P bolts)
110 mussy hooks
14 chains
27 tubes of glue
13 all-stainless, permanent draws
from SportBolting — the first of their kind placed in the U.S.

These new all-stainless permadraws are now installed on steep routes at the end of the canyon and have already received a lot of positive feedback from the community. The final photo included here shows the pile of retired hardware … a tangible reminder of why this work matters.

In total, this round of hardware replacement represented an investment of just over $2,300 in materials alone ... a meaningful but necessary cost to ensure long-term safety and sustainability at one of Central Texas’ most heavily used climbing areas.

Board Openings: Get Involved

TCC is now accepting applications for two Board Officer positions: Executive Director & Communications Director

Per our bylaws, board officer positions are reviewed on a staggered, two-year cycle and are opened publicly — even when current officers intend to reapply. We’re working on some exciting initiatives to grow climbing access and conservation efforts across Central Texas, and we’re looking for passionate, community-minded climbers to help lead the charge.

If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved behind the scenes, this is a great opportunity to help shape the future of climbing in Texas.

  • The Executive Director (ED) serves as the visionary leader and primary representative for Texas Climbers Coalition. This role is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, financial health, and operational success of the nonprofit, with a core focus on stewardship, access, and community engagement for rock climbing within central Texas. The ED will bridge the gap between outdoor conservation efforts, local climbing communities, and corporate partners to ensure the sustainable growth of our sport.

  • The Communications Director manages the social media, public relations, and outreach within the TCC. This role also manages all communication and marketing volunteers.

Limestoner Update

We’re excited to share a look at the financial impact of Limestoner 2025 and what it means for TCC moving forward.

Thanks to sponsorships, registrations, and community support, Limestoner raised over $7,000 directly for the Texas Climbers Coalition. At the same time, we were able to give back meaningfully to the climbing community by awarding more than $4,000 in prizes and cash awards to competitors.

Looking ahead, Limestoner will return in the fall, and we’ll be sharing dates and details soon. As always, thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, competitors, and supporters who make this event possible year after year.

As we look ahead, we’re energized by the strength of this community and grateful for the continued support that makes TCC’s work possible. Whether you’re donating, volunteering, applying for a board role, or just showing up to climb responsibly, you’re part of this effort.
